MYND Studio designer shortlisted for Australian Design Awards

The head designer of MYND Studio has been shortlisted for the Australian Design Awards for SixStar, a web-based personality quiz that maps creative traits through generative visuals. This recognition celebrates innovative design thinking and interactive storytelling in digital experiences.
SixStar: mapping creative identity
SixStar is a web-based personality quiz designed to help emerging creatives understand their unique design tendencies. Rather than assigning fixed labels, the quiz places users along a spectrum of design traits, resulting in a constellation that visually represents their creative identity. The project merges interactive design with generative art, offering a reflective tool that encourages awareness of strengths, approaches, and working styles.
A visual and interactive approach
As a primarily visual designer, the SixStar project allowed experimentation with generative art. A fully custom system was developed to generate a constellation based on quiz results. The scoring logic uses a Likert scale, preserving the qualitative nature of personality while producing data to drive the visual output. The visual language is clean and intuitive, informed by a concept of galactical absence of matter, giving the digital interface both elegance and clarity.
Outcome and deliverables
The final prototype is a fully functioning interactive quiz that produces unique constellation visuals for each user. Deliverables included the web-based quiz, a written framework for interpreting results, a generative constellation system, and a cohesive web design system. Together, these components create an experience that is both analytical and imaginative, merging interaction design with graphic expression.
